HOUSTON (FOX 26) - More than 5,900 homeless students attend classes in the Houston Independent School District. Like their peers, they want to spend time with friends, participate in extracurricular activities and attend school functions such as the prom. Unfortunately, many of those students lack the financial resources to purchase dresses and shoes and do not attend prom.
Carla’s Closet, a program of This Woman's Work, will host the Project Prom Dress Drive on Sunday, March 18 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at One Delta Plaza Educational Center, Inc. on 3333 Old Spanish Trail, Houston, TX 77021. This Woman's Work founder Carla Lane and HISD Board of Education Trustee District IX Wanda Adams are the event organizers.
