When Derek advertises for a flatmate he gets more than he bargained for: Leonora, who, albeit unintentionally, disrupts his life in a major way.
Carla Lane's comedy made the successful transition from Comedy Playhouse to full series with direct but amiable premise. Rita Tushingham was cast as the lonely Leonora, whose quirky charm was bound, eventually, to creep through Derek's defences.
